A bizarre chat with Virgin Media

I just got “off the line” with a Chat operator from Virgin Media. I wanted to drop our TV package as we mostly watch Amazon Video and other streaming services at home, and any live TV we might want to watch is available as a stream on our Smart TV. So what I thought would be a simple matter of cancelling the TV part of our package, became a bizarre sequence of offers and counter offers that strangely seemed to be intended to push me towards keeping what I had and paying more money!
